Believe That You Will Have a Blessed 2011

Do you believe that you’ll have a super-blessed year?

Thoughts are powerful but words are even more powerful.

I’ve written here a powerful declaration for you to say. But I ask you to say it with conviction. Confess this out loud…

“I declare I’ll have a super-blessed year in 2011! I claim a year of amazing abundance for my life. This year, I shall receive more love and give more love. I shall experience more joy, greater generosity, dreams fulfilled, financial increase, open doors, new opportunities, divine connections, supernatural appointments, great miracles, answered prayers, and exponential growth—Amen!”

My sons love playing with clay.

I think it’s a great toy.

Because you can shape it in anyway you want.

My boys would ask, “Dad, make a ball!” and I’d roll it on my hands and make a ball. My boys would ask, “Dad, make a hotdog!” and I’d rub it between my palms and make a hotdog. My boys would ask, “Dad, make a donut!” and I’ll connect the two ends and make a donut. My boys would ask, “Dad, make an Optimus Prime Autobot Transformer Robot!” and I’ll tell them, “Nah, that’s too simple for me. Here, why don’t you try it?”

Friend, here’s the truth that has been hidden from you for a long time now. Your life is like clay in your hand.

Because God has given you the power to shape your life.

And this new year is no different.

How do you want your 2011 to look like? It’s really up to you. It’s your choice. You call the shots. You decide your destiny.

I repeat. Your life is a clump of clay. And God has given you two powerful tools to shape your life: Your Faith and your Action.

Actually, Faith and Action are one. Because the clearest expression of your Faith is when you Act on your Faith.

And you’ll discover that life—and all of God’s creation—will adjust to your Faith and Action.

The Last 2010 Feast

Being the year ender feast, and Christmas was fast approaching it was an awesome and memorable night with Bro. Micheal Angelo Lobrin recapturing the yeat that was. With teary eyes, he expressed his gratitude of how much the Feast Cebu has grown and touched many lives from 70+ attendees a month ago to over 300.

And so the Light of Jesus Community Cebu gave a simple gift of a specialty shirt “I Puso Cebu” similar to “I Love Cebu”. For which Bro. Micheal has one good experience of the Cebuano “Puso” which he mistakenly thought as the tagalong “Puson”.

And speaking of “puso”, the night ended with a Salo-salo of all the feast attendees bringing in delectable finger foods from barbecue, lechon, pizza, dried fish, delecacies, the puso, and many more! It was one great and life-changing 2011 for the Cebu Feast, and surely this 2011 there will be more blessings at hand.

When I was six years old, I came home with our class photo.

I wasn’t too proud of it, but I had to show it anyway.

I gave it to my father.

When he looked at it, he couldn’t find me. He said, “Bo, where are you?”

Sheepishly, I pointed to myself in the photo—somewhere at the back of the crowd. You could only see half of my face. (Clue: I’m somewhere at the right side.)


Dad groaned. I’m sure he didn’t mean to hurt me. Parents usually don’t. But that day, he did.

Because he said, pointing to the mestizo guy in front, “Bo, why don’t you be like this guy! Be in front! Wave at the camera!”

Ouch.

I said, “Yes, Dad.”

But I felt very sad that day.


Because I was a shy kid at the back.

And Dad wanted me to be like that mestizo kid in the front row. Confident. Outgoing. Aggressive.

That happened when I was six years old.

That was 35+ years ago.

Yet to this day, I still remember how I felt that day.

That’s how toxic those words were to me.

Parents, you need to love your kids with their personality, their temperament, and their unique gifts.

Never compare them with others.

After all, this is how God loves you.

Friend, are you still hurting?

Perhaps people around you are looking down at you. People around don’t believe in you. And all they do is point out your weaknesses.

You have a God that doesn’t do that.

He never compares you to anyone else.

He loves as you are.

He celebrates who you are.

He enjoys you—your idiosyncrasies, personality, gifts…

And He accepts you as you are—the entire mix, the whole package.
