It is almost a month away from the upcoming Kerygma Conference 2010 (KCon) - the biggest Catholic Learning Event in the country - and its event organizers in Cebu launched its first Press Conference at the newly opened Hotel Elizabeth last October 26, 2010. Headed by the Light of Jesus Community in Cebu, they invited straight from Manila the Kerygma Core Committee with Bro. Randy Borromeo the Overall Working Committee Chairman who is also the Vice President and Operations Head of Shepherd’s Voice Radio and TV Foundation. With him was Sis. Chel Crisanto a member of the KCon 2010 ExeCom and the Administrator for External Affairs of the Shepherd’s Voice Radio and TV Foundation.
Opened with a sumptuous breakfast, Bro. George Gabriel, the Overall Worship Leader of Kcon 2010, then gave a taste of the highlights of the conference as he led the group in praise and worship by singing songs accompanied by the music ministry. Afterwards, Bro. Randy then shared the finer details of the conference and what are we to expect this year.
“It keeps getting bigger,” Bro. Randy exclaimed. Kerygma Conference is the yearly gathering of Catholics organized by Bro. Bo Sanchez which is, “Not only for the believers of the faith, but most especially for the unbelievers.” Being its fourth year, the conference in Manila has grown from gathering 3000 to last year’s almost 9,000 participants. And this year they are expecting 13,000 for the 3 day conference. Meanwhile in Cebu, with its first ever Kerygma Conference last 2009 with about 2,500 participants the organizers are expecting 3,500 for this year after receiving such positive feedback from last year.
This year’s theme, “Restoration” sprang from what has been manifested as our society’s values and ideals deteriorate piece by piece. And with everything that comes of age, it needs to be restored once again – bring it back to its original form – for it to last longer. And this is what Kerygma Conference will be this year, to restore and bring back the fold.
This coming December 4, 2010, Saturday at the Waterfront Lahug, Kerygma Conference 2010 will be a day packed with praise and worship, healing, learning, and abundant blessings. Talks will be given by Bro. Carl Fontanilla on Family Restoration, and Bro. Micheal Angelo Lobrin on the Joy of being a Christian. People will be entertained with fun and games, and wonderful presentations. A special healing mass will be given by Fr. John Iacono. And of course, the Grand Feast Talk on Leadership Restoration to be given by Bro. Bo Sanchez himself.
Tickets are available for only Php200 and a Php500 for reserved front row seats. They are available at Three Sixty Pharmacy Outlets all over Cebu and Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Lahug. They can also be bought at the Kerygma Feasts every Monday evening at the CAP auditorium in Jones.
And so it was such a wonderful and blessed morning that day, a breakfast delight care of Hotel Elizabeth, and a soul filling worship with Bro. George, and something great to look forward to this December with the Kerygma Conference 2010.
